These permanent and fixed-term roles (graduate and experienced) support the management of Engine and APU assets across Jetstar and customer A320/A321 (Classic & NEO) and B787 fleets.

These critical roles help ensure fleet health, airworthiness, compliance, and performance standards are maintained. These are key roles within Jetstar Engineering, suited to motivated individuals who enjoy working in dynamic, team-based environments.

Available positions will report to the Technical Services Manager – Powerplant, for in-service support roles and to the Planning and Shop Visit Manager - Powerplant, for off-wing support roles.

Key responsibilities for In-Service Support roles include:

  • Provide technical support for in-service Powerplant issues.
  • Maintain 100% data accuracy in TRAX for Powerplant systems.
  • Monitor fleet reliability, support targets set by leadership, and drive related campaigns.
  • Report on modification status and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve Safety Management System findings related to Powerplants.
  • Contribute to fleet development initiatives as required.

Key responsibilities of Off-Wing Support roles include:

  • Manage technical aspects of engine and APU shop visits, ensuring compliance with Jetstar standards for scope of work, modifications, hardware, and build life.
  • Support development of engine/APU removal plans and coordination with Planning teams, ensuring adequate spare engine availability.
  • Liaise with MRO technical and commercial teams to meet operational and spare engine and APU supply needs.
  • Provide technical input to Commercial and Finance teams on engine-related budgeting and cost matters.

To be considered for these roles, you will have:

  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (Graduate Engineers welcome), or LAME/AME qualifications with engine rating or shop experience
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure in a compliance-driven environment
  • Confidence in articulating complex engineering concepts to varied stakeholders
  • Proven analytical and IT skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Desirable (for experienced roles):

  • Background in Powerplant Engineering, CAMO, or engine shop visit management
  • Experience with ICA assessments (e.g. ADs, Service Bulletins) and TRAX maintenance systems
  • Familiarity with aircraft and engine maintenance data and reliability programs
  • Knowledge of shop visit technical/commercial requirements and vendor/OEM management
  • Understanding of Jetstar processes and procedures
