When my Mum puts on her QantasLink Cabin Crew uniform every morning, she practically beams with excitement as she leaves for work. I am based in Adelaide and it’s like coming to work every day with your best friends. Sometimes I get to fly with Mum and inevitably no matter how hard I try not to, I usually accidentally refer to her as “Mum” once or twice during the flight which gives customers a bit of a giggle. She gives me the look (we all know THAT look from our Mum), but I am so proud to work alongside her and I know she is too. Aviation isn't just a career choice for my family – it's a legacy that I'm honored to continue. Both my parents have dedicated their lives to the industry, with my mother serving Qantas for over 30 years, initially with QantasLink in 1994 before transitioning to Mainline as a Customer Service Manager. My father's journey in aviation began in the early '90s, culminating in his tenure at Qantas for the past two decades. 

Stepping into QantasLink last year felt like coming home. Surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of the aviation world I grew up in, it was an instant connection. The sense of camaraderie and belonging made it clear that I was part of something special – a second family.
