  • Permanent full-time position based in Melbourne 

The Opportunity 

The role of Manager, Airport Services Training is responsible for the training of all Airport based team members - both customer facing and ramp, focused on customer service, operational procedures, and safety.  

It is a vital role in the Airport Services team, ensuring that all airport staff are well-trained, competent, and equipped to deliver safe and efficient operations, and exceptional customer experiences.  

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Airport Services, Safety, Quality and Training, this role requires a strong strategic thinker who will collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders, in particular our Ground Service Providers, to deliver best in class training outcomes. The role is expected to challenge existing business practices and identify efficiencies to transform the Airport Services training footprint. 

The core responsibilities of this role will be:  

  • Training Program Development: Designing and developing training materials, including e-learning modules, practical exercises, and assessments, for various airport roles. Identifying  opportunities to transform existing training programs and processes, as well as implementing changes to enhance the quality and efficiency of training delivery 
  • Training Delivery:  Facilitating training sessions for new hires and existing staff, ensuring they are competent and well equipped to deliver exceptional customer service,  execute operational procedures, and safety protocols. Managing the technologies, information platforms and technical personnel to develop, manage and deliver training. Identifying opportunities to transform the way we deliver training to our Airport Services team members 
  • Competency Assessment: Evaluating employee performance during training and on the job, identifying areas for improvement and providing feedback 
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all training programs adhere to relevant aviation regulations, company policies, and safety standards 

To be considered, key skills will include:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related discipline (desired), or demonstrated experience in a Training and Compliance capacity 
  • Professional certifications in Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Agile Learning Design or Instructional Design certifications, Lean Six Sigma (highly desirable) 
  • Experience in a learning leadership-oriented role  
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, leading transformation initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, regulatory and compliance oversight 
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of commercial practices 
  • Someone who champions innovation and experimentation and encourages others to challenge the status quo and explore new ideas.
