  • Permanent full-time position based in Melbourne 

The Opportunity 

The Senior Manager, Airport Services Safety, Quality & Training is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing the safety, quality and compliance, and training functions for our customer facing and ramp teams. This includes accountability for: 

  • Operational, People and Cyber safety for all personnel operating at Jetstar airports 
  • Management of the Quality Assurance and Compliance program for the entire Airport Services portfolio, and business continuity programs/processes 
  • Training and development of our customer facing and ramp teams, including consideration of how training is best delivered to our people 
  • Monitoring and reporting on KPIs for safety, compliance, and training effectiveness 
  • Overseeing compliance, safety governance, and assurance programs aligned with regulatory standards, including the setup of new airports 
  • Driving transformational projects and continuous improvement initiatives across Airport Services 

Reporting directly to the Head of Airport Services, this role will  work closely with the operational teams in Airport Services, other Jetstar operational teams, our Ground Service Providers and our safety team to monitor, and continue to enhance our operational, people and cyber safety posture – above all, ensuring a strong safety culture across the portfolio is maintained. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to implement best-practice solutions in safety, quality and compliance and training for both our customer facing and ramp teams. 

To be considered, key skills and experience will include:    

  • Experience in senior leadership roles, with demonstrated success in leading large, complex teams or business units 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Business, Aviation, Safety, Training or a related discipline 
  • Professional certifications in areas such as Lean Six Sigma; Agile Project Management; or Safety, Training and Compliance 
  • Experience in leading people, operational and cyber safety in large, complex teams. 
  • Experience in leading quality programs for operational teams. 
  • Proven experience leading the design and implementation of the training strategy for a large portfolio
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, leading transformation initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, regulatory and compliance oversight 
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, drive innovation, and deliver measurable business outcomes 
  • Strong understanding of commercial and business requirements 
  • Strategic agility to identify future trends and consequences
