We’re seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Manager Circular Economy to lead the delivery of the Qantas Group’s waste and circularity strategy. This role will develop and manage frameworks to embed circular economy principles across all business units, enabling integration of waste reduction processes and supporting the Group’s sustainability commitments. You will work with key internal and external stakeholders to align initiatives, meet waste targets, and ensure preparedness for evolving government compliance and market drivers. A key focus will be the development and implementation of performance metrics and leading waste-related reporting across the Group.

You’ll have – 

  • 5–10 years’ experience in sustainability, corporate strategy, or a related field within large, complex organisations 
  • Graduate degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline 
  • Proven ability to influence and deliver sustainability and circular economy outcomes across diverse business functions 
  • Deep knowledge of government policy, circular economy legislation, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices 
  • Strong project and program management skills, including strategic planning, budgeting, and performance tracking 
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to senior leaders and driving cross-functional collaboration 
  • Highly adaptable and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities 
  • Strong communication skills and recognised thought leadership in sustainability, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset to drive cultural change
