The Senior Commercial Manager – Group Services plays a pivotal role in driving key commercial and operational initiatives across the Group Services portfolio including Facilities Management, Utilities, and other key suppliers and partners that support the Group. This position is responsible for shaping and executing commercial strategies, negotiating and managing critical contracts, and ensuring service delivery aligns with stakeholder needs and expectations.

A core focus of the role is to identify opportunities, manage high-value stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, and optimise the financial performance of Group Services. Success in this position requires experience in  commercial negotiation and supplier management, advanced negotiation capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

Beyond commercial leadership, the role also involves leading and mentoring a team of commercial professionals. This includes providing strategic guidance, fostering professional development, and ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of the Group.

Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation are essential to this role. The Senior Commercial Manager – Group Services is instrumental in delivering value to both Group Services and the wider Qantas Group, contributing directly to the Group’s long-term success.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • CPA or CA qualification preferred
  • Experience in Facilities Management and Utilities procurement activities preferred
  •  
  • Demonstrated strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships, expectations, and deliverables effectively
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and collaborative team member with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Skilled in influencing and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ability to build and leverage cross-functional networks to drive positive group outcomes
  • Proven capability to deliver accurate, timely information while managing competing priorities
  • Strong advocate of the Qantas brand, upholding its values in all stakeholder interactions
  • Experience managing and developing a small to mid-sized team
