Reporting to the Head of Group Value Optimisation & Transformation Delivery, the Senior Manager, Strategic Transformation will be responsible for the development of value optimisation opportunities, delivery of implementation roadmaps, and the management of complex systems, people, and process interdependencies for strategic programs of work across the Office of the CFO and the broader Corporate portfolio. This role will influence senior management and work with business leaders and functional teams across the group to meet operational and financial targets by leading initiative prioritisation and trade-off discussions across the domain along meaningful immediate, medium-term and long-term horizons. The Senior Manager, Strategic Transformation will own and continuously improve strategically important artefacts and regular C-suite updates, ensuring outcomes are understood, coordinated and actioned.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in a corporate environment, major airline, or top-tier consulting firm
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications required; MBA preferred
  • A highly structured style and results-oriented approach with the intellectual capability to quickly understand and apply new concepts.
  • Outstanding analytical, financial, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a high performing, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent ability to create high-quality quantitative analysis and written materials for presentation to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a high level of emotional intelligence to work with and manage stakeholders of all levels right across the business across the Qantas Group.
  • A strong interest in the airline industry and a desire to gain knowledge and experience across a variety of Qantas Group businesses.
  • A desire to work in and contribute to a diverse, collaborative, high-performing, and social team environment.
  • Sound organisational skills and the proven ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management input and communicate outcomes to senior management.
  • A high level of commitment and professionalism.

Qualifications

Essential criteria 7-10 years of professional experience Tertiary qualification; Masters/MBA desired Superior strategic development, financial, communications and project management skills. Ability and confidence to quickly identify key issues, structure a project plan and develop strategic options. Thorough understanding of strategic evaluation and financial evaluation techniques. Experience in leading project teams and developing staff. Aviation industry experience will be beneficial but not essential
