  • Manage commercial relationships and strategies to support Qantas New Distribution Capability (NDC), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and identifying revenue opportunities. 
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and account plans to support Qantas NDC adoption, guide decision-making, and contribute to Qantas's success in a changing industry landscape.

As Manager, Commercial and Distribution Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in managing commercial relationships critical to the success of Qantas NDC. Reporting to the Senior Manager Distribution Strategy, Channel & Compliance, you will lead commercial strategies, negotiations, and the evaluation of potential Qantas NDC partners. Your responsibilities will include developing financial models and business cases, identifying revenue opportunities, and driving ROI to support strategic objectives. By fostering strong partnerships with both GDS and non-GDS channel partners, you will ensure seamless partner onboarding and maximise agency adoption of Qantas NDC. 

This role is essential in bridging internal stakeholders and external partners, requiring close collaboration with teams across Procurement, Legal, and Project Management to deliver commercial agreements and execute distribution strategies. You will also design and implement strategic account plans for channel partners, lead cross-functional initiatives, and mentor project resources. With a focus on innovation and leadership, you will help drive Qantas’s success in a rapidly evolving distribution landscape, ensuring the airline remains competitive and positioned for future growth. 

You’ll have – 

  • 5+ years in a similar role with at least 10 years’ experience within a commercial team  
  • Proven expertise in strategy development, financial modelling, and commercial negotiations. 
  • Strong understanding of the airline and travel industry, including Airline Distribution, NDC, and APIs. 
  • Familiarity with contractual frameworks for technology partners and procurement processes. 
  • Experience leading and managing technology-driven teams to deliver results. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools for data analysis and reporting. 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, engaging effectively with all levels of management. 
  • Strong commercial insight with the ability to evaluate strategic, financial, technological, and business issues. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build relationships, and make sound business decisions under pressure
