Job Description

As a Software Technical Lead, you will use your knowledge and experience to lead a team of software engineers through the design development and maintenance of digital products and services. Whilst it’s important to have some involvement in the day-to-day work of software delivery, there is also a managerial and strategic planning role.

You will work closely with Product Managers to maximise value and align with strategic business goals. Beyond the immediate product teams, you contribute to the overall technical vision and effectiveness of the organisation as member of the Integration and Automation Domain.

You’ll have:

  • 10 years’ experience in systems development and implementation, including at least 3+ years in tech leadership roles
  • Proven experience in technical leadership and demonstrable ability to inspire and mentor less experienced developers in best practices for software development
  • Experience in guiding teams through agile product discovery and delivery phases
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical partners, with the capability to influence stakeholders to drive functional, efficient, and maintainable software
  • Experience in overseeing the architecture and design of applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with business objectives
  • Expert knowledge of the Java language, Springboot framework, and microservices architecture
  • Extensive experience with Git, DevOps practices such as CI/CD, code analysis, reviews etc
  • Experience implementing comprehensive observability, monitoring and alerting in high availability production environments
  • Confidence researching and troubleshooting bugs and performance bottlenecks in production environments
  • Experience in designing and implementing service mesh architecture for microservices and event driven integrations using Kafka
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Unit, Integration, System, End to End, UAT, PVT testing and embedding best practice quality assurance within project teams
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as AWS-EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, Kubernetes etc
  • Proven experience in performance optimization and security considerations in cloud-based applications
  • Confidence estimating effort for design and development tasks
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Slack for effective team communication and project management
