The Finance Business Partner will partner with the business to provide effective planning, analysis and advice on all financial aspects for Qantas Airline Aircraft Programs. Working closely with the Head of Finance and other Senior Executives, this role supports the fleet strategy, leading forecasting and performance delivery.

This role will drive accountability, for accurate and timely Aircraft Programs management and financial reporting. The is a dynamic high-profile role which requires strong stakeholder management skills to support the pipeline of Aircraft Programs with multi layered cross functional working groups.

This role will also focus on commercial, financial and strategic stewardship as well as risk management, stakeholder management, people management, cash flow management and continuous improvement. 

You’ll be accountable for:

  • Effective end to end project budget delivery. Facilitate project reforecast process to provide project performance against financial objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise project reporting and Executive Management/Board reporting in a timely manner.
  • Champion appropriate level of financial governance and management of internal controls across fleet projects.
  • Provide financial and commercial support for commercial negotiations with third party suppliers and key project stakeholders.
  • Support the projects RFA development from approved board paper investments.
  • Develop, manage and maintain critical relationships with stakeholders of all levels across the organisation.
  • Act as the key link between the finance community and the business; communicate complex subject matter in a clear and simple manner.
  • Implement project control measures to identify, escalate and endorse project updates.
  • Support investor relations and corporate communications on Aircraft Programs financial position and business strategy.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to the team to ensure their growth, development, and performance

You’ll have:

  • 7 years+ relevant experience Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline
  • Extensive financial knowledge and experience (CPA/CA/equivalent)
  • Ability to positively influence stakeholders to overcome roadblocks to deliver successful outcomes
  • Superior communication and influencing skills
  • Intellectual capability to quickly understand, apply, and embed new concepts in a complex business environment
  • Strong sense of urgency, focus on outcomes and drive for success
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and to lead to successful business outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting objectives in order to deliver key milestones
  • Strong analytical, financial and problem solving skills with the ability to deliver clear financial analysis and advice to non-finance management teams
