From Dreaming to Flying: My Journey to Becoming a QantasLink Captain

Ever since a three-day school holiday course at Archerfield Airport in Queensland at 14, the thrill of flying captivated me. By 17, I earned my private pilot’s license, stepping up to a commercial license at 18, and by 21, I achieved my Air Transport Pilot Licence. After eight adventurous years in general aviation across Australia, my journey led me to QantasLink in 2016.

Now, as a Q400 captain for four years, I've had the privilege of flying over the breathtaking landscapes of regional Australia – from the brilliant blues of the Queensland Whitsundays to the rich reds of outback towns, with the Torres Strait offering views that make my heart soar every time.

But beyond the views, it's the lifestyle QantasLink offers that means the world to me. Being able to come home to my family each day and not missing a moment with my little girl is a gift I never take for granted.

This is more than a job; it's a lifestyle that respects work-life balance, nurtures passion for aviation, and surrounds you with incredible colleagues. Joining QantasLink means having your office in the sky with the best views in the world and coming home in time for life's precious moments.
