Job Description

  • Oversee the delivery of high-impact property projects across Qantas Group facilities including asset replacements, refurbishments and fit outs
  • Engage and drive key suppliers and external consultants, and collaborate with internal business units to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and meet regulatory compliance and operational requirements
  • Fixed term position based at our Mascot Campus within the Group Property - Group Facilities Management and Environment Team

Qantas Group Property manage a portfolio of over 2 million SQM across approximately 200 sites nationally. The team works closely with a broad range of stakeholders and internal customers to deliver property solutions supporting all facets of the business to meet constantly evolving operational requirements and to assist the organisation in providing a premium Customer experience.

The Project Manager, is responsible for managing key suppliers and external professional consultants to deliver multiple small to medium sized property-related capital projects including asset replacements, refurbishments, and facility fit-outs, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, safely, and in accordance with all compliance requirements and best practice standards, while fulfilling the operational needs of the internal customer business unit. Key tasks include all aspects of program governance – project brief and business case development, scope and design oversight, tender process oversight, stakeholder management, schedule and budget oversight, risks and issue management, reporting and assurance.

You’ll have –

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction and property industry
  • Tertiary qualification - Bachelor Degree in construction, property, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience in contracting and supplier management, including sourcing, negotiation, and risk mitigation
  • Strong project management skills with knowledge of project and property development methodologies
  • Solid understanding of financial evaluation principles and techniques
  • Good knowledge of regulatory environments, with a willingness to continuously expand expertise
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks effectively, and meet deadlines independently
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient in computer-based systems and databases
  • High standard of written communication, supported by thorough documentation and record-keeping
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of construction workplace health and safety (WHS) legislative requirements
  • Strong focus on safety and risk management in project delivery
