We’re seeking a highly skilled Manager – Investments & Strategy, Carbon Markets to join our Group Sustainability team. In this role, you’ll help lead the delivery and ongoing development of the Qantas Group’s carbon markets strategy, driving investment opportunities in nature-based solutions (NBS) and carbon removal technologies, and ensuring we meet both domestic and international compliance obligations and voluntary commitments.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build and manage a pipeline of strategic investment opportunities into new carbon projects for the Qantas Climate Fund to meet the Group’s long-term net emissions targets
  • Deliver commercial and technical due diligence on major investment and long-term supply opportunities in alignment with the Group’s Integrity Framework.
  • Develop strategies for voluntary and legislated carbon market requirements, including Safeguard Mechanism, CORSIA, and customer-facing programs.
  • Analyse carbon market trends, supply and demand dynamics, pricing, and policy developments to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate across the business to align with Qantas’ Climate Action Plan, Nature Strategy, and Integrity Framework.
  • Represent Qantas in industry forums, driving thought leadership in carbon markets and sustainability.

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in investment, strategy or analytical roles – ideally in carbon markets, strategy consulting, venture capital, corporate finance, funds management, renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure advisory.
  • Strong commercial acumen, financial analysis, and investment evaluation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of carbon markets, carbon projects and credits, and their regulatory environment.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical and market concepts to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and collaborative approach.
