We're now looking for a Portfolio Manager – Case Management to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Case Management, this is a leadership role leading a team of 4 Case Management Managers, and is responsible for overseeing workplace investigations and case management across a designated portfolio of the Qantas Group. You'll work collaboratively with two peer Portfolio Managers to ensure consistent case management practices across the organisation.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the case management function across your assigned portfolio, overseeing investigations into misconduct, grievances, performance, fitness for work, appeals and Whistleblower matters.
  • Personally manage the most sensitive and high-profile cases, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team of Case Management Managers.
  • Partner closely with HR, IR, Legal and business leaders as a trusted advisor on complex and sensitive people matters.
  • Monitor and report on risk, balancing compliance requirements with employee wellbeing and operational outcomes.
  • Use data and insights to drive continuous improvement and strengthen governance.
  • Champion the adoption of best practice systems, processes, and tools for case management.

About You

You are a skilled leader with deep expertise in case management, investigations, and stakeholder management. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years’ experience in case management, HR, or employment law, including extensive experience managing complex employee matters.
  • Degree qualifications in Employment Law, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience advising senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Resilience and sound judgement in handling sensitive and high-pressure situations.
  • Analytical and continuous improvement mindset, with capability in using data to drive insights and decisions.
