Life as a Cabin Supervisor with Network Aviation

From Dream to Career

Working in customer service has always been my passion. Before joining Network Aviation (NAA), I managed a busy restaurant on Rottnest Island, but becoming a flight attendant was a dream I had since childhood. When NAA advertised for cabin crew, I applied immediately and was thrilled to be successful.

A year later, I was promoted to Cabin Supervisor, leading our incredible cabin crew team. I was also honoured to represent the Qantas Group as a Crew Ambassador at community and charity events. Over four years on, my journey has been nothing short of incredible, and I am excited about the growth and opportunity still ahead.

People and Community

The best part of my job is the people, both customers and colleagues. Flying regionally across WA means connecting small towns with the capital, and that sense of community really shows. My colleagues feel like family. We always have each other’s backs, and it often feels like travelling with close friends.

One memory that has stayed with me was surprising a passenger with a birthday card, cake, and chocolates on a flight. Months later she recognised me and told me how much it meant. Small gestures like that remind me why I love this role. We do not just serve; we connect and uplift.

Lessons in Care

Early in my career, a Cabin Supervisor told me: “Treat the passengers as if they’re your family. Their loved ones are waiting for them.” That advice shaped my approach and is something I share with my own crew now. Respect and empathy are at the core of great teamwork, and they set the tone for every flight.

Not every journey is a happy one, and I will never forget a flight where an elderly passenger was travelling to a funeral. We offered comfort and one of my colleagues sat with her for most of the journey. That quiet act of kindness showed the true heart of our team.

Pride and Purpose

I am proud to have represented NAA at the WA Telethon call centre, supporting children’s charities, community initiatives, and medical research. It gave me a deep sense of purpose and pride in the impact we can make beyond the aircraft cabin.

What I Bring Every Day

Besides my uniform, the one thing I bring to work each day is a smile. It is simple, but it is powerful. A smile is a universal language that can comfort, connect, and brighten someone’s day.
