As a Manager Data Science, you will lead the research, development, and deployment of advanced forecasting and optimisation capabilities across the revenue management function. You will play a pivotal role in guiding a team of data scientists to identify high-impact revenue opportunities, oversee the development of mathematical forecasting models and their deployment in MLOps pipelines to ensure outputs are robust and work with stakeholders on using these outputs to drive business performance.

In this role, you will not only apply your deep technical expertise to solve complex problems but also mentor a team of senior and mid-level data scientists junior team members, influence strategic direction and collaborate cross-functionally to embed data science into core business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 4-5 data scientists, providing technical guidance, mentorship and career development to foster a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Drive the development of modelling and optimisation solutions that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, enterprise-grade software that embeds data science capabilities into core business systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data science initiatives with business priorities, demonstrating commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Champion best practices in model development, deployment, and monitoring (MLOps), ensuring robustness and accuracy.
  • Work with team and stakeholders to ensure timelines are met by balancing scope, team capacity and business needs.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement in the team’s ways of working.

You’ll Have

  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. Master's or PhD) or equivalent experience in data science, econometrics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or applied physics.
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing data science teams and delivering complex projects with significant business impact.
  • Expertise in statistical modelling, time series forecasting, optimisation and causal inference.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with a track record of translating data science insights into strategic business decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles and production-grade development.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms e.g. Amazon AWS.
  • Experience managing the full model lifecycle, including training, validation, deployment, and performance monitoring.
