  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the safety and quality culture of Qantas Engineering’s Americas operations, driving excellence across our LAX Line Maintenance Operation
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to influence change and enhance operational performance
  • Full time permanent position based out of our LAX hanger
  • $160,000 - $180,000USD per year (plus bonus)

As the Quality & Compliance Manager for LAX Line Maintenance Operations, you will take on a key leadership role in shaping and delivering the safety, quality, and compliance strategy across our U.S. engineering operations. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and quality management systems—ensuring alignment with Qantas Engineering’s Safety Management System (SMS) and all applicable regulatory frameworks.

In this role, you’ll lead governance processes for change management, risk mitigation, and regulatory approvals across internal teams, suppliers, and external partners. As the custodian of safety and quality documentation for LAX LMO, you’ll ensure full compliance with Qantas Engineering standards, procedures, and instructions. You’ll also work closely with the broader Qantas Engineering Safety, Quality & Compliance leadership team to ensure consistency and alignment across our global operations.
 

You’ll have –

  • 10+ years’ experience in regulatory, safety or compliance roles ideally within engineering.
  • Extensive experience with aviation safety and airworthiness regulations, including CASA Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, EASA standards, and other National Aviation Authority frameworks.
  • Professional aviation management or safety qualifications, including Lead Auditor is highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to lead a team across multiple projects or programs, overseeing deliverables, coaching to outcomes, and ensuring best practices.
  • High levels of strategic thinking and demonstrated capability working in complex systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to deliver under pressure and manage time as needed.
  • Leadership capability in working autonomously across both strategic and tactical activities or in supporting and managing a team to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work across varying time zones.
