As the Head of Innovation and Strategic Execution for Qantas Group Technology, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping to deliver our Technology 2030 strategy while growing Qantas as a recognised innovation leader in the aviation industry. This role leads the design and execution of compelling storytelling campaigns that showcase Qantas innovations to both internally and externally. The role also helps design and implement internal innovation programs including hack days, ideation events, and frontline innovation initiatives.

This role also leads the translation of the Technology 2030 strategy into detailed, executable plans and roadmaps. With this, the role manages the execution rhythm for Group Technology and Cyber, including leadership meetings and offsites, to maintain alignment and accountability. Additionally, the role leads a cultural change program aimed at building customer-focused, commercially aware teams capable of delivering large-scale, tech-enabled business transformations. It also involves crafting compelling narratives around technology and AI investments to support communication with investors and stakeholders. Operating across all Qantas Group business units, with a focus on the Airline and Corporate functions, the role demands deep strategic and operational insight, influential collaboration, and a strong drive for progress. This position is a key member of the Group Technology and Cyber leadership team, contributing to the execution of the Technology 2030 strategy and the broader vision of building a great airline and loyalty business that embodies the Spirit of Australia

You’ll have:

  • Significant experience (10+yrs) working in technology, marketing, and/or communications
    within large multinational organisations, including exposure to commercial and operational
    teams.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, with expectation of post graduate study, preferably with broader business administration qualifications
  • Technology, marketing and communication expertise with an ability to engage, influence
    and lead technology and business leaders.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling capabilities to articulate complex strategies and business value propositions. 
  • Stakeholder acumen to navigate complex organisational dynamics and build consensus
    across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Extensive senior management experience gained in a highly complex organisations with
    a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Extensive demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Customer and results oriented, with a strong sense of energy and purpose.
  • Deep experience in strategic planning, budget and resource management.
  • A team builder and team player with a positive, pragmatic and collaborative operating
    style with the highest levels of ethics and integrity
