Job Description

  • Own the commercial and financial strategy for Qantas’ 51 lounges and 600 partner lounges globally 
  • Lead key negotiations with client airlines and suppliers, shaping outcomes at the executive level. 
  • Drive new business opportunities, revenue growth, and operational efficiency across Lounge operations. 
  • 12 month fixed term contract based at our Mascot Campus

We are seeking a commercially savvy leader to join Qantas as Senior Manager Commercial – Lounges. You will manage all commercial and financial aspects of Qantas’ 600+ lounges, including strategy, commercial consumer products, partner lounges, client airline revenue, capacity and access, and supplier performance. This role includes identifying new business opportunities, negotiating with external partners, and leading relationships with client airlines and lounge suppliers globally. Strong negotiation skills and interpersonal ability are essential. 

You will provide key recommendations to senior executives, ensuring all contracts, approvals, and governance comply with Qantas policies. The role includes managing regulatory compliance, overseeing RFPs and tenders, and delivering commercial insight and recommendations across Lounge and Group functions. This is a high-impact position driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and long-term value for Qantas. 

You’ll have – 

  • 10–15 years in a large-scale, complex commercial environment 
  • Degree in Business, Finance, , or a related discipline 
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles and financial management 
  • Own and manage relationships, expectations, and deliverables across the business 
  • Provide recommendations and influence outcomes for senior leadership decisions 
  • Proven ability to lead negotiations and manage senior contractors effectively 
  • Experience managing, developing, and motivating teams 
  • Culturally astute, able to develop networks beyond the team, and a strong advocate for the Qantas brand
