In the Aircraft Performance & Sustainability Engineering team as a DevOps Engineer, you will develop and deploy Performance, Weight Control solutions for Qantas Airways and other Qantas Group airlines. In this role, you will work in a dedicated engineering team liaising with key stakeholders including Technical Services, Flight Operations and the Integrated Operations Centre - Load Control to deliver business continuity solutions and for our domestic and international operations. 

Your work will directly contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of operations during disruptions to ensure the delivery of accurate technical data to our Flight Operations team. The role provides an opportunity for you to work with industry experts dedicated to quality, compliance and the safety of our passengers, people and assets. The role has a high emphasis on safety and airworthiness requiring attention to detail and an ability to deliver automated solutions in a dynamic operational environment. 

To be successful, you will have: 

  • Degree qualifications in Computer Science and/or Graphic Design. 

  • Very strong analytic capability, with ability to identify requirement discrepancies and inconsistencies.  

  • Ability to gather and document user requirements. 

  • Strong communication skills, with ability to present to a diverse audience. 

  • Experience working in an Aircraft Performance Engineering team. 

  • Experience with the Qantas Cloud Platform. 

  • Strong demonstrable software development skills including: 

  • ReactJS (Redux, ReactQuery, MaterialUI) 
  • Typescript 
  • HTML / CSS 
  • Golang  
  • OpenApi 
  • Docker 
  • SQL 
  • Git 
  • Confluence / Jira 
  • Graphic design experience for UI development. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise and deliver to project timelines

  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Well organised and self-motivated with proven problem-solving capabilities. 

  • A collaborative approach, actively contributing to team success and fostering a positive team environment.

  • Familiarity with Civil Aviation and Safety Regulations relating to engine inoperative departure procedures and weight control will be highly considered (desirable).
