As Business Support Lead, you’ll be at the heart of Base Maintenance operations, providing high-level administrative leadership and strategic coordination. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Assurance, you’ll lead a team of Business Coordinators and act as a key liaison across corporate stakeholders, Head of Engineering and internal teams.

This role demands a proactive mindset, strong organisational capability, and the ability to manage complex logistics. You’ll oversee the planning and execution of corporate and port events, develop detailed itineraries and run sheets, and ensure seamless delivery through effective delegation and stakeholder engagement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring the Business Coordinator team, ensuring clarity of roles and accountability
  • Managing BAU expenditure and escalating non-BAU items with strategic recommendations
  • Coordinating high-profile events and engagements, including logistics, stakeholder liaison, and on-the-ground execution
  • Creating and managing operational documentation including itineraries, run sheets, and schedules
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring administrative functions align with business goals

 

You’ll bring:

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to delegate, motivate, and manage performance
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence liaising across corporate and operational teams
  • Demonstrated experience in event and corporate management, with a logistical and solutions-focused mindset
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and internal systems such as eQ and iProcurement
  • Operational knowledge of Brisbane Base and Qantas Engineering processes (highly regarded)
