Jetstar is currently looking for an Airworthiness Review Specialist to join our Engineering team based at Tullamarine, Melbourne. This is an integral role in the daily operation of the Aircraft Airworthiness Review Team, responsible for conducting Airworthiness Review certification activities in line with CASR Division 42.I and the CASA Part 42 Manual of Standards (MOS). The role also supports the Manager Airworthiness Certification, Regulatory Compliance Manager and Continuing Airworthiness Manager in maintaining the ongoing safety and compliance of the CAMO for Jetstar’s A320/A321 and B787-8 fleet.

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the fleet’s Airworthiness Review Certificates remain current and compliant. You’ll help drive alignment with regulatory requirements and internal procedures while fostering a culture that prioritises safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

As the Airworthiness Review Specialist, your focus will include:

  • Prepare and approve the Aircraft Airworthiness Review Certificate or extension certificate as applicable in accordance with the CASR Part 42.
  • Carry out Compliance review against CASR Part 42.900 (inclusive) in accordance with the departmental procedures manual.
  • Carry out aircraft physical surveys.
  • Ensure that Aircraft Airworthiness Review Certificates are forwarded to CASA in accordance with the CASR Subpart 42.I requirements.
  • Provide technical support and advice to other departments as required.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Authorities (primarily CASA), and customers as required.
  • Ensure data is collected and stored (whether that be electronically and/or paper) for each AARC.
  • Work in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Able to carry out all duties and responsibilities as an Airworthiness Review Specialist.
  • Other duties within CAMO as directed by the Manager Airworthiness Certification

About You

We are searching for someone who:

  • A minimum of 12 months’ experience in the Airworthiness Review process
  • At least 5 years’ experience in continuing airworthiness or related functions such as Maintenance Planning, Aircraft Configuration Control, Technical Records, End-of-Lease processes, or similar
  • Meets the Airworthiness Review Employee (ARE) requirements as per the CASA Part 42 Manual of Standards (MOS)
  • A current or previous CASA B1, B2, or C category licence on company aircraft (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Strong organisational capabilities with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
