As an Airport Improvement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to offer expert guidance on airport systems and processes, supporting the operational maintenance and enhancement of QantasLink services. You will drive improvement projects focused on ground operations (including Ramp, Customer Service, and training) programs across QantasLink's Air Operators Certificates (AOCs). These initiatives aim to achieve strategic objectives by implementing changes and efficiencies across 85 ports and managing relationships with around 40 suppliers. 

Additionally, you will coordinate QantasLink Airport's change and risk registers, conducting risk assessments with operational teams to facilitate the successful delivery of initiatives and change programs. Your role also encompasses supporting new port start-ups, ensuring smooth onboarding of Ground Service Providers (GSPs), assisting with check-in procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and overseeing mandatory training. You may also provide frontline support as needed. 

You’ll have – 

  • Prior Airport experience with a high-level knowledge of both Operations and Airport Systems 
  • Analytical and solution focused approach to problem solving, with a drive to work to tight and everchanging deadlines 
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skillsets (both Verbal and Written) with the ability to influence individuals at all levels 
  • Commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy 
  • Keen eye for safety and compliance, with an ability to support OH&S in the workplace and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations 
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 
  • A Bachelor in Aviation Management (desirable but not essential)
