We are currently seeking qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, to join our high performing team based at Sydney airport.  The main function of this role is to carry out maintenance on Jetstar aircraft in a timely and safe manner, in accordance with company requirements. We want to hear from you if you are logical, can see the big picture, and do not mind working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment. We work in a dynamic environment, and you will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to this team.

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager, some of the key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Carry out maintenance on company aircraft
  • Quality Control for aircraft presentation upon completion of maintenance and prior to release to service
  • Delivering quality and reliable maintenance and rectification services to a high standard Ensuring all WHS and Quality policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure timely and correct completion of all work carried out
  • Comply with Jetstar’s Safety Management System
  • Required to work at other ports (including international locations) as required
  • Comply with all Jetstar training and compliance requirements
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with contractors and outside service providers

Remuneration on offer: All Jetstar Engineers in Australia are paid under the Jetstar Airways Engineering & Maintenance Enterprise Agreement 2023 which can be referenced HERE.

Base salary for a qualified AME with under 2 years experience post apprenticeship is $83,236 (excluding superannuation, overtime, allowances and potential bonuses plus heavily discounted staff travel fares for employees and limited beneficiaries). Salary increases subject to qualifications per our Enterprise Agreement.

  • Has completed Certificate IV in Aeroskills, with previous A320/321 experience desirable
  • Has excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others
  • Upholds a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Has experience in Line and/or Base Maintenance
  • Has a proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Has proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders; and
  • Holds a valid driving license and ability to obtain an airside drivers license
  • Is willing and able to perform shift work
