The Qantas Business Integrity and Compliance (BIC) team has accountability for delivering and assuring an effective business integrity compliance program across the Qantas Group, ensuring that employees, and third parties working on behalf of Qantas conduct business in an ethical and compliant manner in the countries where we operate and comply with Qantas code of conduct (Business Practices), policies and standards.

We are looking for a Third-Party Risk & Compliance Manager (TPR&C), with subject matter expertise in anti-bribery and corruption and sanctions and a working knowledge of modern slavery risk. The TPR&C Manager will work closely with the BIC, Legal and Procurement teams, and Business Units to undertake third party due diligence, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop risk action plans and strategies to drive third party risk oversight and monitoring and governance activities across the business.  You will also apply your knowledge of compliance frameworks to support the uplift and optimisation of the broader compliance program.

Applying your subject matter expertise and experience in risk and compliance you will play a critical role in assisting the management of business integrity related risks and have primary responsibility for the due diligence, risk assessment and development of strategies to manage suppliers and other third-party risk.

You will be performing third-party due diligence and risk assessment processes and workflow. Identifying potential risks and managing the proper escalation of risks to internal business contacts and/or Legal for further input where appropriate. Providing final reports containing relevant findings and recommendations to business units. Managing escalations of system-generated monitoring alerts and acting upon these accordingly. Identifying program improvements and taking ownership of the design and implementation of fit-for-purpose solutions. Partner with Privacy, Cyber, Security, Legal, Sustainability, Procurement and business owners to support best practices in third-party risk management and supporting the BIC team with ongoing, planned, and new projects.

You’ll have-

  • 5 years+ experience in a professional environment,regulatory compliance or legal role
  • Demonstrated experience in  third-party due diligence and risk assessment, in the disciplines of Anti-bribery & Corruption, Sanctions and Modern Slavery.
  • Demonstrated experience in Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Sanctions regulatory requirements and compliance and control frameworks. A working knowledge of Modern Slavery risk management in supply chains
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency and experience using Compliance/Due Diligence platforms, and evaluating data such as company information, corporate structures, sanctions and regulatory findings and adverse media
  • Sound understanding of Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks from working in other large companies, including control design, implementation and evaluation of effectiveness
  • Global relationship management experience working with and influencing partners, team members and suppliers
  • Be a trusted partner with a clear ability to inspire change, manage conflict, bring together different points of view, make decisions, gain agreement on goals.
  • A continuous improvement mindset identifying opportunities that improve process.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle a variety of tasks, adjust quickly to priorities and meet changing business needs.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
