The SEO Analyst will be responsible for supporting the broader Digital Operations and Performance team and SEO Manager in the development, implementation and ongoing management of Search Optimisation (SEO) across the Qantas Airline (and Qantas Group where applicable). 

The role will utilise data-driven insights and strategies to optimise both the technical and non-technical dimensions of SEO, to help drive organic traffic to Qantas.com, amplify conversions and improve customer experience. 

The SEO Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence, improving search engine rankings, and ultimately contributing to the overall success of the business.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be:  

  • Assisting the SEO Manager in developing and implementing the SEO strategy. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective SEO strategies that align with business goals and enhance customer experiences.  
  • Consistently seek innovative methods to enhance global search results, while staying informed on SEO trends that affect our customers and business. 
  • Assist in prioritising tasks based on customer impact and site health. 
  • Provide recommendations for optimising on-page content, metadata, and internal links across multiple international sites. 
  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research to discover relevant topic clusters and high-potential keywords aligned with our target audience and content themes. 
  • Conduct competitor analysis to discover the strengths, weaknesses, and potential opportunities within the digital landscape. 
  • Use data analytics tools and platforms to track, measure, and report on SEO performance indicators. Present findings to stakeholders. 
  • Use SEO tools to analyse search volume, competition, and keyword trends for content planning. 

You’ll have –

  • 2+ years of experience in SEO. 
  • Tertiary Degree and qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Information Knowledge Management or Library Sciences preferred. 
  • Strong experience sourcing and analysing SEO data, preparing reports, and providing insights on results.
  • Detail orientated, analytical and data-driven.
  • Solid experience and understanding of contemporary international multi-site SEO best practices across technical and non-technical optimisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, develop and implement SEO strategies.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics. 
  • Experience using SEO tools such as ScreamingFrog, DeepCrawl (Lumar), SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS development and constraints. 
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • A strong work ethic and a genuine team player.
