The Compliance and Claims Specialist within the Qantas NSW Self Insurance Workers Compensation team you will provide specialist compliance claims support to the team. You will be assisting the NSW Workers Compensation Manager in proactively monitoring compliance, monitoring and enhancing compliant claims management processes, problem solving with the aim of delivering best practice claims management in accordance with the relevant legislations, regulations and compliance guidelines.

In this role you will oversee and coordinate the daily compliance activities of the NSW Claims Team ensuring that all compliance measures are met by exercising your expertise and providing guidance to the claims team. You will engage with the Regulator, peak bodies and other representatives in the industry. You will be responsible for the provision of monthly workers compensation data to the State Insurance Regulatory Authority. You will be responsible for the management of quality assurance programs to ensure high levels of compliance and best practice claims management. You will be responsible for developing systems and procedures in line with changes in regulations and legislation, developing and delivering training and implementing change management and driving uptake and engagement by team members and key stakeholders

You’ll have –

  • Minimum 3 years of workers’ compensation experience in relevant State and/or Territory
  • Extensive working knowledge in workers compensation claims management, compliance and self-insurance audit requirements 
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply Workers’ Compensation legislation. 
  • Proven ability to build constructive and effective working relationships through influence and collaboration with others.
  • Experience in data management, reporting, trend identification and change management
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player attitude
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Experience managing claims under a self-insurance portfolio (highly regarded)
