As the Senior Regional Maintenance Manager – Eastern Australia, you will lead Qantas Engineering’s multi-site operations across Victoria, Adelaide, Canberra, and Tasmania.  With accountability for over 300 FTEs across multiple EBAs and executive direct reports, you will drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic transformation.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of the Qantas and Qantas Freight fleets, including the Australian Government’s VVIP aircraft. As an alternate CASA Part 145 Responsible Manager, you will ensure the highest standards of aircraft and people safety across facilities delivering over 2,000 man-hours of maintenance weekly. You will also play a critical role in leading EBA negotiations, support the delivery of major cross-functional initiatives, and shaping the future of engineering operations in a dynamic, safety-critical environment.

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience within an engineering, maintenance environment managing complex and technical engineering business across multiple sites
  • Previous experience managing workforce of over 300+ employees under multiple collective agreements
  • Holds a degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Prior experience working across Line Maintenance
  • Ability to balance big-picture strategic thinking with a sharp eye for detail, ensuring both visionary leadership and operational precision.
  • Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels—from frontline teams to executive leadership and external partners.
  • Advanced project management skills, with experience in overseeing complex, multi-stream initiatives.
  • Sound knowledge of aircraft maintenance contract development, negotiation, and execution.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams in operational settings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results within a complex business environment with varying stakeholder needs and expectations
