Senior Manager Melbourne Airport Operations

• Exciting opportunity to lead Jetstar’s Melbourne Airport operations 
• 12-month fixed-term position 

The Opportunity 

The Senior Manager Melbourne Airport Operations is responsible for the end-to-end performance of our Melbourne Airport operations — driving excellence in safety, customer experience, people experience, operational efficiency and financial outcomes. 

Leadership is at the heart of this role. You will lead and empower our customer facing team, champion a high-performance culture, and role model leadership behaviours that reflect our Jetstar values.  You’ll navigate union and stakeholder relationships (i.e. GSPs) and ensure strong governance across safety, security, and compliance.  

Reporting to the Head of Airport Services, the role also works closely with several stakeholders across the Jetstar operation such as Flight Operations, Engineering and Cabin Crew to ensure a safe and consistent operation.  

You’ll have –  

• 7+ years’ experience leading large operational teams within aviation 
• Operational and managerial experience at a senior level in a large, complex service environment 
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with competing priorities. 
• Strong consultation skills and able to interact with all levels of an organisation 
• Sound analytical aptitude, problem solving skills and data management 
• Ability to develop and implement tactical plans 
• Ability to work within a complex and dynamic operational environment 
• Tertiary Qualifications in a Business, Aviation, Safety or related discipline is desirable but not essential
