We’re looking for an experienced and strategic leader to join Qantas as Senior Manager, Distribution. This is a pivotal role within the team driving the future of Qantas’ distribution, where you will help drive and embed our new distribution model and platform. You will lead the overall distribution operation, including both commercial development and technology enablement, ensuring alignment with the broader Group strategy while delivering tangible business impact. 

As Senior Manager, Distribution, you will build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to understand business needs and influence the effective operationalisation of our distribution strategy. You will take ownership of key operational, transformation, digital, and technology decisions, balancing long-term strategic objectives with current business priorities. Key to the role will be establishing and embedding a robust support model along with appropriate frameworks, reporting and mechanisms to measure performance and identify optimisation opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to continue to inform the future of Qantas’ distribution strategy, manage the ongoing optmisaiton of the platform, drive innovation, and play a central role in delivering a modern, high-performing distribution approach for the Group. 

You’ll have – 

  • 15+ years in the travel or airline industry, with strong experience in sales, marketing, distribution, commercial, or cross-functional roles. 
  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience developing new commercial models, managing complex multi-national negotiations, and drawing up commercial contracts. 
  • In-depth knowledge of airline distribution, fare filing rules, and Qantas’ positioning, including current and emerging models. 
  • Vendor management experience, including ongoing monitoring and review to ensure optimum engagement Strong people management skills, general management experience, and ability to influence across multiple stakeholders and present to Executive and CEO. 
  • Well-developed understanding of strategic, financial, technological, and business issues, with the ability to balance trade-offs and guide decision-making. 
  • Experience in change management process and frameworks, to ensure that the broader business and partners are engaged effectively to support ongoing platform enhancements and upgrades 
  • Advanced analytical skills, using data to drive business decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings. 
  • Experience working across multiple functions, challenging the status quo, and driving initiatives that deliver optimal outcomes for the Group.
