Senior Business Analyst

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for providing specialised consultative and analysis expertise to assigned area, from the application of system analysis to operational and functional problems. Act as an interface with technology, business stakeholders and/or vendors to design, develop and implement solutions, ensuring that requirements are understood. You will be responsible for scoping and mapping the integration of other business systems.

This role will be within the Engineering Technology Domain, that supports the Jetstar’s Engineering operations with their technology strategic directions and needs for continuous benefits in the areas of compliance, cost reduction, OTP improvement, error reduction, data quality and staff engagement.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Accountable for identifying the existing systems and the development of new systems to meet business needs
• Responsible to develop and/or implement medium to large sized systems
• Identify opportunities for improved system use by applying innovative new approaches and methods to existing business processes
• Undertake systems analysis and design and building activities
• Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure interests of area are protected and achieved both tactically and strategically
• Facilitate workshops with business owners and subject matter experts to elicit and document business requirements / user stories for programs / products of work or system enhancements 
• Develop AS IS or TO BE process mapping aligned to the business process and requirements / user stories
• Develop functional / technical specification for new systems or changes to existing systems as part of the production / project for design and development deliverables
• Provide technical guidance to business and end users
• Oversee and provide input to program / product scoping, architectural, solution design, testing and implementation of service improvements and/or efficiency reviews to continuously deliver ‘fit for purpose’ IT services that align to business needs
• Review and provide input of testing strategy and plans, test cases and success criteria ensuring test coverage meets business requirements / user stories
• Identify quality issues, analyse root cause and implement strategies to mitigate against repeat occurrence where possible
• Work with business teams / subject matter experts, testers and developers on test execution cycles and raise/resolve faults
• Overseas the development of user guides and/or product implementation documentation as required
• Provide leadership and directions for team members

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology/Systems, Business, Engineering and/or relevant field.
• Minimum 5+ year’s of professional experience in relevant IT area, Aviation Engineering experience will be highly regarded
• Experience and skilled in business analysis practice and methodologies
• Experience in data analytics, understand logical flow and write basic queries
• Proven experience with relevant technologies, methods and standards and project / product deliverables
• Strong people leadership capabilities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
