  • Permanent Full Time Opportunity located at the Qantas Corporate Campus in Mascot

In your new role as a Senior Avionics Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for the identification and prioritisation of fleet issues, root cause analysis and development of corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in safety, operational performance and efficiency of aircraft avionic systems and components. You will draw on your effective communication and problem-solving skills to work with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve issues that will maximise the commercial and operational benefits to the Qantas Group.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Develop cost effective engineering designs and installations that efficiently integrate with the airframe
  • Evaluating and coordinating airworthiness issues associated with modifications, ensuring compliance with certification and regulatory airworthiness requirements
  • Preparing modification installation instructions
  • Liaising with stakeholders including: Fleet Managers, Flight Operations, Training, Finance
  • Liaising with Supply chain / Purchasing staff to ensure timely delivery of modification materials
  • Liaising with Heavy Maintenance for installation quotations, schedules and costs reconciliation.

You’ll have –

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering (Avionics, Electrical or related Degree)
  • Familiarity with Civil Aviation and Safety Regulations
  • Sound organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and drive to get the job done
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within Qantas and outside organisations
  • Self motivation with a strong team spirit.
