As the Senior Analyst, Sustainable Operations, you will play a key role in delivering the Qantas Group’s climate targets, with a strong focus on reducing waste, single-use plastics, and emissions. You will be responsible for leading the Group’s sustainability data analytics capability, enabling data-driven decision-making through robust performance monitoring, detailed reporting, and benefit tracking across strategic environmental initiatives. This role supports the implementation of circular economy and emissions reduction strategies through project management and roadmap execution.

You will develop and maintain processes for data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate measurement of progress toward sustainability goals. In addition, you will provide analytical support for the development of performance metrics, contribute to monthly dashboards and compliance documentation, and ensure high data integrity through validation and quality control. Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Sustainability, and supporting the Manager, Operational Efficiency Programs, you will help embed a long-term sustainability vision across the Qantas Group and ensure alignment with both internal standards and external stakeholder expectations, including regulatory compliance, investors, and customers.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Strong understanding of the airline industry, Qantas Group, and competitors' schedules and products
  • Ability to interpret profit & loss statements and derive cost estimates for flying
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate sustainability, reporting, data analysis, or project management within a large, complex organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage projects and influence cross-functional outcomes in a corporate setting
  • Strong analytical skills with a talent for translating complex data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability principles and frameworks, including waste management and emissions regulations
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and project coordination, with a track record of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
  • Flexible, resilient, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced and evolving environments
