As the Program Management Office Manager, you will work closely with stream / project leads and team members across the Freight business, providing Program and Project support, assurance, governance and finance management, with a view to establishing a centre of expertise and excellence. The PMO Manager will have an extensive knowledge of program and project management and will have responsibility and ownership of the project lifecycle, standards, tools, policies, processes, controls and quality for all Western Sydney (WSI) Freight Terminal project activities to achieve the Freight Terminal build and operational start up aligned with Qantas Freight’s WSI Strategy.

Your role as a PMO manager requires excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure that effective, collaborative relationships with vendors and key stakeholders exist and are monitored, measured and reported upon. The PMO Manager will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate resource control is exercised and will work closely with the WSI Program Manger to effectively manage the defined Program scope against the available resource, ensuring that all demand is prioritised through the Freight WSI governance process.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in major projects with 5 years in a PMO role
  • Experience in large scale program/ and or organisation change
  • Good knowledge of project management methodology. Highly computer literate,
    especially MS Powerpoint, MS Project, MS Excel, and Sharepoint
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and
    verbal, with the capability to interact effectively with senior management
  • A team player able to work under pressure with the minimum of supervision
  • Pro-active, flexible, enjoys multi-tasking and possess an ability to facilitate cross
    functional forums and reviews
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels in the organisation.
  • Strong management, change management and leadership skills including planning,
    analysis and communication abilities
  • Expert project management skills, coupled with a developed understanding of project
    life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies
  • Extensive experience and expert understanding of project delivery methodologies
    and associated measurements/reporting standards
  • Ability to understand the relationship between roles within the context of the overall
    project
