As the Materials and Logistics Analyst is responsible for meeting the day-to-day operational demand, supply and planning for all expendable parts, rotables and tooling supporting the National Jet Systems (NJS) fleet. It is focused on achieving on-time and cost-effective supply of components for the fleet to meet Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), ongoing airworthiness and operational availability requirements.

 

The role will develop part demand forecasts, supply planning, inventory optimisation and order recommendations independently to meet the requirements of the flying network and maintenance schedules, including support for recovery of Aircraft On Ground (AOG) and regulatory mandated Airworthiness Directives (AD). It will responsible in providing ongoing communication and updates between stakeholders including Maintenance Watch, Maintenance Bases and various departments within the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) - Engineering Fleet Management for both existing and potential fleets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop part demand forecasts, supply planning, inventory optimisation and order recommendations independently to meet the requirements of the flying network and maintenance schedules, including support for recovery of Aircraft On Ground (AOG) and regulatory mandated Airworthiness Directives (AD).
  • Ensure sufficient spares are available to support the National Jet Systems fleet and lead-times are obtained to meet requirements 
  • Co-ordinate update of parts information, overhaul history and airworthiness compliance requirements with Technical Records
  • Parts planning for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements
  • Co-ordinate technical compliance of parts and services with Technical Service Engineers (TSE’s)
  • Monitor inventory stock levels throughout all Distribution Centres and Maintenance Bases
  • Develop forecast models and implement additional stock holdings to account for peak and holiday periods
  • Ensuring the on-time delivery and most cost-effective method of purchasing inventory
  • Maintain inventory control process to ensure service standards are met and exceeded
  • Develop, negotiate and implement commercial agreements for internal and external customers and ensure contractual agreements are met
  • Negotiate with vendors to improve turn-time and commercial value to benefit NJS operations
  • Participate in negotiation to improve purchasing agreements and reduction in overall procurement costs
  • Support delivery of inventory and procurement training to NJS AMO users to achieve standardisation of processes and systems across the business to deliver to target.
  • Conduct market review and analysis of suppliers to maximise financial and operational outcomes for the business
  • Manage risks associated with procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring CRMS and ERMS requirements are followed
  • Comply with Group Management Systems and Policy

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering or logistics role
  • Qualifications in Engineering/Logistics or experience in Logistics and or Inventory Management
  • School certificate minimum
  • Demonstrated understanding of Group Procurement and Finance policies
  • Ability to think across multiple dimensions and link to financial outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven history of integrating maintenance, operational, safety and cost outcomes to enhance efficiency.
  • Strong process focus
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Above average computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word etc.)
