As the Manager, Governance and Compliance, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of Loyalty's compliance and assurance activities, ensuring successful coordination and control implementation. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and own the Loyalty compliance program, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. You will proactively support stakeholders in understanding and meeting compliance requirements, and foster a culture of compliance throughout Loyalty.

You will interface with Qantas Loyalty and Qantas Group functions responsible for compliance and act as an advisor on compliance matters and in the development of processes to manage compliance. You will also support the business with the development, execution, and monitoring of remedial activity for compliance incidents. You will lead, design, and facilitate workshops to understand compliance obligations and maintain relevant documentation, while contributing to strengthening a culture of compliance awareness.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Significant experience (10+ yrs) working in Technology and/or Risk within large multinational organisations, including exposure to commercial and operational teams 
  • A minimum 10+ years senior leadership experience leading large, geographically diverse teams
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, with expectation of post graduate study in Technology, preferably with broader business administration qualifications
  • Proven ability to understand operational and compliance risks inherent or emerging in a business area, to assess the level of risk, and to develop and execute plans to mitigate risk 
  • Experience in process mapping, risk and control identification using a Risk Assessment Framework 
  • Commercial and cost modelling mindset to articulate trade-offs and mitigants
  • Extensive experience in leading and influencing collaborative cross domain working groups to drive outcomes 
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to independently manage and influence internal and external relationships at senior levels and to communicate in both technical and business language 
  • Highly Flexible with the ability to pivot successfully to demands
