Your Opportunity

As a Maintenance Control Engineer (MCE), you will be responsible for the management of Engineering production, compliance, and technical aspects for Day of Operations within the regulatory and airworthiness framework. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering Operations, you will have ownership of aircraft AOG recovery and providing technical advice to AMO(s), Ops Delivery and Flight Crew whilst also supporting the MOC team, AMOs for defect monitoring/rectification and fleet health.

As a MCE, you will be working in a dynamic and unpredictable environment and you will need to maintain a high level of control and integrity in your decision making/communication.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Taking ownership of the fleet and having a full understanding of fleet defects
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all AOG aircraft events and recovery
  • Supporting AMOs with recovering AOG aircraft as quickly as possible
  • Ensure fleet compliance is maintained
  • Receiving and actioning any communications regarding technical issues from Engineers, Operations, Flight Crew, Technical Services and Management
  • Assess defect deferrals against MIS and the maintenance plan as well as the effect to the operation
  • Work with planning teams to route and plan work on aircraft

To be successful in this role, ideally you’ll have:

  • Hold a B.1.1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (preferably CASA/EASA), with a type rating on B787 or A320/1 (desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an Line/Heavy Maintenance environment
  • Maintenance control experience highly regarded
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within a team
  • Strong knowledge of PART 145/42 regulatory framework
  • Ability to manage change and any related departmental change programs
  • Awareness of aviation MIS aircraft health monitoring and general computer systems
