At Jetstar, the data platform consolidation Initiative Lead is responsible for leading a major enterprise data platform migration from legacy systems to a modern cloud-based data platform. You will drive an AI-accelerated migration strategy for enterprise-scale data warehouse consolidation, serving as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders, technology partners, and AI/GenAI vendors. This role focuses on delivering complex technical program management while enabling business domain self-service capabilities and maintaining operational continuity throughout the migration.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

• Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale platform consolidation across complex database environments and extensive data structures.
• Develop and execute AI-accelerated migration strategy achieving significant timeline reduction and resource efficiency gains compared to traditional approaches.
• Lead vendor selection and management process for AI/GenAI technology partners, ensuring high functional accuracy for complex code conversion and business logic migration.
• Oversee migration of complex technical assets including data integration packages, reporting solutions, and automated processes using AI-driven conversion tools.
• Implement phased migration approach with comprehensive rollback strategies, maintaining legacy system operational capability during transition periods.
• Establish automated testing frameworks and parallel validation processes for each migration phase, ensuring no performance regression from current baseline.
• Partner with business data stewards and subject matter experts to validate business rule extraction and conversion accuracy throughout migration phases.
• Coordinate with enterprise business domains to prioritize migration sequence, manage change impact, and enable post-migration self-service analytics capabilities.
• Drive implementation of modern data architecture patterns replacing legacy data models while maintaining business continuity and user adoption.

To be considered, key skills will include: 

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management and/or relevant field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent program management certification, highly desirable.
• Cloud platform certifications preferred.
• AI/ML certifications or data migration specialised training beneficial
• 7+ years of data platform migration experience with proven track record of large-scale enterprise implementations
• Deep technical understanding of traditional data warehouse technologies and modern cloud-based alternatives
• Demonstrated experience with AI/GenAI applications in data migration, automated code conversion, or testing frameworks
• Proven track record managing complex technical initiatives with multi-year timelines and substantial budgets
• Experience coordinating multiple technology vendors, managing vendor selection processes, and contract negotiations
• Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, data mesh concepts, and self-service analytics implementation
• Aviation or related industry experience beneficial for understanding business context
