As the Head of Line Maintenance, you will be responsible for leading the operational outcomes of Qantas Engineering Line Maintenance across both domestic and international locations. This pivotal role involves responsibility for aircraft maintenance operations, including people leadership, safety, regulatory compliance, commercial performance, and customer satisfaction. With a strong focus on strategic direction, you will drive key business initiatives aimed at streamlining operations, enhancing productivity and efficiency all while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.  

This role will require you to be eligible to hold Accountable and Responsible Manager roles and to ensure compliance with CASA Civil Aviation Regulations (CASR Part 145). 

To be successful in this position you will have: 

  • Proven expertise in airline operations, aircraft maintenance, and/or continuing airworthiness.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or Engineering, with an MBA highly regarded. 
  • Strong track record in organisational leadership, project and change management, people management, and commercial negotiations. 
  • Extensive experience managing and leading within highly unionised environments. 
  • Demonstrated relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to foster trust and engagement across all levels of the business. 
  • Thorough understanding of the Civil Aviation regulations and other regulations governing industrial workforce management (WH&S, Industrial Relations, Environment, EEO etc.). 
  • Demonstrated capability in driving and implementing transformational change in complex, fast-paced environments. 
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams in operational settings.
