We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute finance leader to join our team as Head of Finance Sustainability. In this critical leadership role, you will partner closely with the Group Chief Sustainability Officer and their leadership team to ensure the delivery of key sustainability targets across the Group. You will provide commercial finance leadership, embedding the right structures, initiatives and processes to meet business unit objectives and support the development and execution of the Group’s sustainability business strategy. 

This role combines strategic stewardship with strong financial oversight, requiring robust risk management, stakeholder engagement and a drive for continuous improvement. You will influence investment prioritisation and opportunity development, working with senior executives across Group Sustainability, Treasury, Investor Relations, and the Qantas, Jetstar and Loyalty segments. As a people leader, you will also be responsible for a team of Finance Business Partners, fostering high performance and delivering on key leadership accountabilities.  

You’ll have – 

  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience, including senior business partnering roles 
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field plus CPA or CA qualification 
  • Proven leadership in commercial finance across multiple business areas 
  • Strong cross-functional project experience, including non-finance roles 
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business unit strategies 
  • Skilled in managing senior leaders and people managers in dynamic environments 
  • Expertise in contract negotiation and external stakeholder engagement 
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and maintaining external networks
