As the Head of Commercial Operations and Supply Services, you will shape the strategy for Qantas Engineering’s Supply Chain, ensuring alignment with the Group’s long-term vision. Your responsibilities will include overseeing inventory, warehousing, logistics, and total cost of ownership, while ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as CASA. You will lead a team dedicated to continuous improvement, introducing new systems and processes that enhance Qantas’ operational success. 

In this role you will collaborate closely with Finance and other stakeholders to deliver commercial and financial initiatives, ensuring parts availability for aircraft recovery and maintenance activities. Additionally, you will manage commercial relationships and contractor management for key suppliers like Boeing and Airbus.

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • 10+ years of senior leadership in supply chain operations, with strengths in forecasting, demand planning, inventory management, and logistics. 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or Engineering, with an MBA highly regarded. 

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience leading large, diverse teams. 

  • Ability to shape and implement strategies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Highly commercial and analytical mindset, ensuring decisions align with Qantas’ strategic goals. 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including Board interactions. 

  • Proven change management capabilities and a focus on customer-centric solutions. 

  • Experience in developing and implementing long-term strategies. 

  • Track record in business transformation and continuous improvement. 

  • Expertise in managing commercial relationships and procurement processes. 

  • Ability to manage contract performance and address supplier issues
