  • Design and implement solutions across all stages of the data lifecycle, from sourcing and validation to visualisation and insight generation
  • Develop and automate dashboards and reporting to monitor commercial KPIs and support strategic decision-making 
  • Provide data-driven insights and modelling to inform short- and long-term commercial strategies across Sales & Distribution and the Qantas Group

We're looking for an analytically minded Commercial BI Analyst to join our Sales & Distribution team. In this dynamic role, you'll design and implement end-to-end solutions to source, validate and operationalise complex data flows. You’ll use these systems to create and automate dashboards and reporting to monitor key commercial KPIs and support strategic decision making. You’ll generate and communicate actionable insights that drive the performance of key commercial metrics, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Sales Performance team through data modelling and project-based analysis, driving both short- and long-term strategy across the Qantas Group’s Sales functions.   

To succeed, you'll need to bring a sharp commercial mindset, strong communication skills and a flair for storytelling with data. Your ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate insights into strategic recommendations will directly impact revenue performance and commercial outcomes.  

You’ll have – 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar or related data analytics, business intelligence, or commercial role. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in data science, business or a related field. 
  • Advanced technical and analytical skills, with strong problem-solving ability and commercial acumen. 
  • Expertise in design and building dynamic Power BI visualisations and ad hoc reporting tools. 
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel and PowerPoint, with experience sourcing and integrating data from internal systems. 
  • Skills in analysing complex data sets and identifying key performance drivers, with the ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations. 
  • Keen interest in data quality, with a passion for uncovering and resolving underlying data issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting insights to senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making. 
  • The ability to confidently challenge the status quo, encouraging the business to improve processes and deliver more efficient solutions. 
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively across functions to deliver timely, accurate reporting and drive commercial performance.
