Job Description

  • Play a key role in determining the strategic direction and financial performance of routes within the Qantas network
  • Beyond managing day to day Revenue Management operations, identify and drive Revenue Management initiatives and strategies to deliver financial targets ensuring the competitiveness and success of Qantas Airlines
  • Working with leadership teams and stakeholders to optimise Commercial with Customer, Loyalty, Brand and Operational outcomes and deliver the collective Group success
  • Permanent, Full-Time position based at our Mascot Campus in Sydney

As the Senior Manager Revenue Management, you will have strategic and operational responsibility for ensuring the demand, pricing and inventory functions for a defined market portfolio are optimally planned, configured and managed to achieve the highest possible revenue results.  As the key point of contact for stakeholder liaison on the market portfolio, you will be responsible for strategic alignment, opportunity identification and effective co-operation and collaboration between Revenue Management and stakeholder, such as Sales, Digital, Network, Marketing, Airline Loyalty and the Operations teams.

Additionally, this role leads a diverse team of specialist revenue management resources. The Senior Manager Revenue Management is required to act as a coach and mentor to the team, in both technical and behavioural skills, and has performance, development and succession planning responsibility for the team.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated and results oriented leader with the ability to develop and translate group goals and key market strategies into actionable tasks and objectives for the team.

You will also have -

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Aviation Management or a related quantitative discipline
  • Strong commercial acumen, with excellent understanding of commercial drivers within the airline industry, knowledge of revenue management, and a sound understanding of the relationship between network design and revenue performance
  • Demonstrated skills to lead a high-performance team, with the ability to engage, mentor, develop team members, and enhance team well-being
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that embraces a result-oriented, innovative and continuous improvement culture
  • Resilience and proven ability to lead and navigate a team through change
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills, with focus on collaboration and ability to deal with escalation and resolution
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff and management, with ability to deal with change, complexity, ambiguity, confidentiality, and differing viewpoints
  • Proven stakeholder collaboration and management experience, with ability to build effective networks and working relationships to consistently deliver optimal business outcomes
  • Sound knowledge of statistics, forecasting and related quantitative techniques; understanding of optimization, economic game theory, price / capacity elasticity and consumer buying behaviour
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate numerical data and market intelligence, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, make decisions, implement and measure outcomes
  • Proficiency with Excel and in using PowerPoint, with strong reporting and presentation skills
