As part of the Operations Planning & Analysis team, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering timely insights into Airport Costs at Jetstar.  You will be involved in the providing support to the Leadership Team in analysis, insight and ensuring key deliverables are met and alignment to strategic direction. 


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Independently deliver analysis of Airport Costs across the Jetstar network, with the ability to interrogate trends and think analytically to uncover drivers of performance
  • Forecast expected financial outcomes, aligned to latest negotiated rate positions, flying schedule and other influencing factors.
  • Deliver clear and consistent reporting of financial performance including monthly results
  • Support the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manger on adhoc projects, reporting and presentations, including collaborating with Jetstar Finance teams
  • Support the build of the Airport costs annual budget and long-term planning
  • Work with Financial Control stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting of actual results
  • Provide financial support to the departments for business cases and/or contract reviews including detailed financial modelling and analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement cost saving opportunities.
  • Provide financial support on new initiatives, with ongoing focus on unit cost improvement
  • Validate the outcomes from departmental and Organisational baselines as required in support of the Jetstar Cost Transformation program.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Tertiary studies in related discipline
  • Professional Accounting (CPA/CA), or equivalent Finance qualification
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in the management accounting/business analyst arena 
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling and cause-and-effect skills
  • Experienced in preparing and delivery of presentations to Senior Management
  • Preferable airline or high turnover/low margin large industry experience
  • Strong computer based skills (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator (written and oral) with well-developed influencing and presentation skills.
