As the Regional Engineering National Operations Manager, you will be accountable for delivering day of operations outcomes across multiple maintenance ports in the QantasLink network for Eastern Australia Airlines (EAA) and Sunstate Airlines (SSA), that is aligned to the business strategy including managing rosters, daily license coverage, leave, overtime, third party suppliers, compliance to policy and procedures, minimising/managing risks, with safety being the highest priority.

This is an executive role, reporting into the Senior Manager AMO, Systems and Process. You will also be responsible for enhancing and implementing strategies in relation to workforce availability i.e. labour sourcing, labour sharing, recruitment, port demand forecasting, licensing, as well as policy and procedures, budget/commercial deliverables, risk and quality management, delivering to customer expectations and needs within QantasLink.

This role requires excellent stakeholder and interpersonal skills, to enable the translation of strategies into practical outcomes. The translation of these BU strategies should enhance and transform day of operations through delivery of market competitive/leading turn time performance, market competitive/leading maintenance check cost, highest quality and safety outcomes whilst ensuring no injuries to anyone at any time is maintained as a core value.

You will be a strong leader who can effectively manage the interests of a broad range of stakeholders from the CASA safety, regulatory and compliance requirements, through to the operational and commercial aspects of the BU deliverables.

In addition, you will be the Responsible Manager for EAA and SSA as prescribed by CASA Civil Aviation Regulation (CASR Part 145).

You’ll have –

  • Strong people leadership experience, successfully empowering and motivating others
  • Experience effectively managing the interests of a broad range of stakeholders from the CASA safety, regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Extensive industry experience maintenance operations with a proven history of delivering high quality, aircraft availability and OTP
  • Exceptional conflict management skills and abilities
  • The ability to communicate and influence at all levels and adapt style where required
  • Excellent stakeholder and interpersonal skills to enable the translation of strategies into practical outcomes
  • A strong business acumen with demonstrated commercial and operations success
  • LAME or Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Ability to meet CASR P145 and MOS requirements, to hold Accountable Manager (AM) and Responsible Manager (RM) regulatory positions.
