In this role, you will have plenty of fun, work with a diverse group of amazing people and create experiences for yourself like no other. As a language speaker, you will also be rostered on specific patterns aligned to language lines to meet customer requirements.

  • Ability to leverage your language skills to provide a meaningful experience to our Japanese speaking customers 
  • Have pride and a clear passion in delivering exceptional and consistent service experiences  
  • Understand our customers, anticipate their needs and take responsibility in providing a superior customer service 
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and assist customers needing extra care, such as unaccompanied minors or non-English speakers
  • Ability to easily build rapport and positively contribute to your team's performance 
  • Be adaptable to any situation that may present itself in a sensible, warm and safe way  
  • Understand the importance of hygiene standards in-flight, ensuring a fresh cabin for all customers and crew
  • Ability to complete all training and assessment requirements, including aircraft safety procedures and obtain required documentation
  • Customer or hospitality service experience, or previous experience in the airline industry  
  • Exceptional standards of grooming and personal presentation
  • Based in Sydney - you must be willing to live and work from this location

You must also meet the following minimum criteria | Saishō yōken:  

  • Advanced proficiency in Japanese is essential 
  • Willingness to undertake the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) speaking test, delivered by Language Testing International (LTI) at your own expense, and achieve a minimum score of “Advanced Low”. (organisation for that test will be communicated at later stages of the process) 
  • Minimum 18 years of age  
  • Maximum height of 186cm 
  • Ability to reach 212cm overhead (barefoot, your fingertips must reach past 212cm, with both hands overhead at the same time)
  • Unlimited Australian working rights  
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate completed within the last 12 months (or be willing to obtain at short notice)  
  • Current CPR accreditation (The CPR component is only valid for 6 months and a refresher course must be completed if expired, or be willing to obtain at short notice)  
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, from a Nationally Accredited Provider (or be willing to obtain at short notice)  
  • An excellent level of health and fitness, including the ability to swim 50 metres fully clothed and tread water for 3 minutes unassisted
  • Ability to successfully complete a Pre-Employment Medical
