Reporting to the Senior Manager Catering Operations (Onshore), the Manager Supplier & Contracts plays a pivotal role in driving the commercial success and strategic supplier management of Qantas' catering services. This critical position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive commercial strategies, managing complex supplier relationships, negotiating strategic contracts, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure exceptional quality and alignment with the airline's inflight experience vision. 

In this role, you will manage strategic business reviews with key suppliers to ensure alignment and address any performance issues. You will be responsible for managing relationships with vendors and measuring their effectiveness to ensure that relationship and contractual obligations are met. The position is accountable for ensuring that suppliers deliver on Qantas' financial and strategic needs within their assigned portfolio(s). 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies for catering services. 
  • Manage complex supplier relationships and negotiate strategic contracts. 
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure exceptional quality and alignment with Qantas' inflight experience vision. 
  • Conduct strategic business reviews with key suppliers to ensure alignment and address performance issues. 
  • Manage relationships with vendors and measure their effectiveness to ensure contractual obligations are met. 
  • Ensure suppliers deliver on Qantas' financial and strategic needs. 
  • Leverage data-driven insights to optimise commercial outcomes. 
  • Integrate proactive communication, deep financial acumen, and rigorous performance monitoring to transform operational functions into a significant competitive advantage. 

You’ll Have: 

  • 8+ years experience in contract management and negotiation. 
  • Strong financial analysis and performance management skills. 
  • Proven experience in managing complex supplier relationships. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Ability to develop and implement commercial strategies. 
  • Experience in the aviation industry or a related field is preferred.
