The Manager, Commercial Performance is responsible for leading and optimising the commercial performance of a specified product portfolio, with a clear focus on delivering value for both customers and the business. This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing product strategy and roadmaps to ensure alignment with customer needs and commercial goals. Leveraging data-driven qualitative and quantitative insights, market trends, and performance analytics, the Manager will identify and pursue growth opportunities, manage key commercial levers, and work cross-functionally to drive revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction outcomes. 

This position involves budget oversight, commercial forecasting, and the negotiation and management of strategic supplier contracts. The role also champions customer-led performance by managing suppliers against Key Performance Indicators. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, the Manager, Commercial Performance will provide expert guidance on supplier performance, commercial strategy, identified risks and opportunities, and the end-to-end customer experience across the Qantas Group. 

You’ll have:  

  • 5–10 years’ experience in product management, supplier or partner management, ideally with deep knowledge of the airline industry. 
  • Proven strategic thinking capability with the ability to shape and drive a long-term product vision. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret research, trends and insights into actionable strategies. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end product lifecycles including business requirements, prioritisation, and road mapping. 
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience applying agile methodologies and managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments. 
  • Commercial acumen with expertise in P&L management, forecasting, and commercial model development. 
  • Strong supplier and partner management skills, including negotiation, performance tracking and strategic engagement. 
  • Strong ability to influence external and internal stakeholders. 
  • Operational management experience with the ability to align initiatives with broader business policies and group objectives. 
  • A deep understanding of airline operations and industry dynamics, with the ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
