The Manager Aircraft Performance will lead a team of specialist engineers, delivering operational and commercial value by managing and optimising aircraft performance. This role is critical in overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the fleet, through ensuring compliance with regulatory standards related to aircraft performance and weight control. We are seeking a multidisciplinary engineer to develop efficient automated software solutions that enhance operational performance. This role requires close collaboration with both Flight Operations and IT departments to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the overall service. 

Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engine inoperative procedures, maximising payload capabilities, and maintaining compliance with regulations. This role will actively engage with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and regulatory bodies to ensure all aspects of aircraft performance are optimised and compliant. You will have comprehensive oversight of Weight Control Engineering, including accurate weighing of aircraft, maintaining records of modifications affecting weight and centre of gravity, and ensuring compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations.  

This role will manage high-speed performance through developing databases for fuel mileage and speed, ensuring compliance with Extended Diversion Time Operations (EDTO) regulations, and conducting analyses for terrain clearance and emergency oxygen availability.   

To be successful, you will have:  

  • Tertiary degree in Engineering or a related technical degree  

  • 10 years of relevant experience

  • CASA Aircraft Weight Control Authority or the ability to obtain  

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment 

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and industry standards relevant to the  
    specific field, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems 

  • Excellent planning and execution skills to oversee engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget 

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non- 
    technical stakeholders and able to manage stakeholder expectations 

  • Proficiency in identifying issues, analysing data, and developing solutions to address  
    engineering challenges and improve processes 

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, ensuring that engineering  
    practices and outputs meet all compliance requirements 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver automated software solutions.
