The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for testing Qantas Loyalty applications, as well as building out our test automation infrastructure. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be contributing to the continuous development of automation scripts, suite, improving and building CI infrastructure. You will be empowered to determine and implement the best solutions. Additionally, you will also be exploring non-functional testing like accessibility/performance/security and improving on testing tools and test approach. Coordinate with team members to create automated test cases and analyse and resolve test failures.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experienced Quality Engineer with 7+ years in enterprise environments.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated tests for software applications, including functional, regression, performance, and security aspects, with a strong focus of frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Cypress, Playwright and JMeter.
  • Good knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud.
  • Experience researching and troubleshooting bugs and performance bottlenecks in a production environment. 
  • Proficient in utilising version control systems such as Git and GitHub, along with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experienced in conducting code reviews and integrating application testing best practices within project teams.
  • Proven ability to investigate and resolve bugs and performance issues in live production environments.
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive test plans by understanding product requirements and collaborating with development teams.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and verification through retesting.
  • Leverage your experience to guide and mentor junior quality engineers in test automation best practices, promoting a quality-focused culture.
  • Drive advancements in the quality process, particularly in the adoption and implementation of new test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Analyse and report on test automation results, providing clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.
